Fine Dining Restaurant Business Plan
Opportunity
Problem
Long Branch, New Jersey (on the shore), is growing rapidly and needs a friendly place to eat. The place you can trust to get the best.
More opportunity than problem, in fact – unless it’ is dinnertime and you’ re in Long Branch.
Solution
Gabri’’s Lounge & Restaurant will include a cozy dining area as well an elegant lounge. You will find comfortable furniture and decor in soothing warm tones. There are antique love seat and comfortable couches in the lounge. The bar is softly lit. It is the perfect spot to have a quick bite, a glass of wine, or for small business meetings. We will prepare special hors-d’oeuvre platters to make it more comfortable and appealing to large groups of people.
Market
Long Branch’s future is bright. Developers are creating a $150 million resort project. The old pier will now be reconstructed with ferry service to Manhattan and New York City, as well as beach cabanas, boardwalks, and a bike trail covering 25 acres. It will cover 100,000 square feet. ft. of commercial space, and over 700 residential units with condo and townhouses ranging from $200,000-$500,000; rentals from $1000-$2,500 a month, and a two-tier garage. These elements together will create a city with a sustainable economy year round.
Competition
Red Bank, a nearby town, has many restaurants and is our largest competitor. Currently, many people who live in Long Branch drive seven miles to Red Bank to dine out. With the redevelopment in Long Branch and with Gabri’s Lounge & Restaurant, we will convince these people to stay in Long Branch and eat at our restaurant.

Expectations
Forecast
The Projected Profit and Loss statement’s most important assumption is the gross margin. It should be higher than the industry averages. We also plan to spend more money on payroll than the industry.
We have seen moderate growth in the first 3 years. This is because restaurants are dependent on word-of mouth. We’ll be capable of meeting capacity requirements as shown here.
Financial Highlights by Year
Finance Required
A $300K startup expense of $465,000 will be funded (details in the company section), plus $85K for startup cash reserve and $80K of non-cash assets. We plan to put in $225K owner investment and land a $240K long-term SBA loan.
